Solar Power for Manufacturers and Factories
Your machines run in daylight, and so does solar. We design and fit solar panels and batteries that cut the cost of powering your production. Every system is built around your roof, your electrics and your shift patterns.
Your Challenges, Solved
Built Around How Factories Really Work
Factories bring their own technical and practical challenges. Here’s how we deal with each one.
Rising, unpredictable energy bills
Electricity is one of your biggest production costs, and prices are hard to budget for.
Generate your own daytime power
We size the system from your half-hourly meter readings, so you use most of the power it makes.
Production can’t stop
Downtime costs money, and contractors on site can put your people and your work at risk.
Installs planned around your shifts
Roof work in stages, safety planned under CDM (UK construction safety law) and a short, booked switch-over, out of hours if needed.
Older or tricky factory roofs
Steel roofs, fragile rooflights and roof weight limits all need checking before any panels go on.
Structural and roof surveys first
We check roof strength, fixings and access, then pick the right mounting system for your building.
Grid limits and approvals
Bigger systems need approval from your DNO (the company that runs your local network), and some sites can only send a little power back.
We handle the G99 application
From the application to limiting how much your system sends back, we manage the grid process for you.
Insurer and fire safety concerns
Insurers now often ask how rooftop solar has been designed and protected.
Designed in line with RC62
Fire safety planned from day one, with full paperwork for your insurer.
Engineers, Not Salespeople
Safety and Engineering Under One Roof
Moralis has solar engineers and its own health and safety and CDM team. So one team is responsible for the design, grid approval, safe install and handover, with all the paperwork your site, insurer and auditors expect.
What a Project Looks Like
A Typical Manufacturing Install
Every site is different, but this shows what a typical factory roof project looks like.
A rough guide only. We confirm your system size, timings and savings after a site survey.

FAQs
Manufacturing Solar Questions
Will installation disrupt production?
No. Most work happens on the roof, and we plan access, lifting and the switch-over around your shifts. The final connection usually needs only a short, booked shutdown, out of hours or during planned maintenance.
How do you work out the right system size?
We use your half-hourly meter readings to match the system to how much power you use, so you use most of what it makes. That pays back better than just filling the roof.
What tax relief is available?
HMRC usually treats solar panels like any other business equipment, so you may be able to take the cost off your taxable profits (capital allowances). Your accountant can confirm what applies to you.
Can we go solar without paying upfront?
Yes. With a solar PPA, a funder pays for the system and you buy the power it makes at a lower rate than the grid. Finance and leasing are also available.
