Commercial Battery Storage
Keep More of the Power You Generate
A battery stores spare solar power and cheap off-peak electricity, then lets you use it when you need it most. That cuts your peak-time bills and gets more value from every panel.
Why Add a Battery
Solar by Day, Stored Power When You Need It
Solar makes the most power around midday, but you won’t always be using power at that moment. Without a battery, the spare power goes to the grid, usually for far less than you pay to buy electricity back.
A battery stores that spare power so you can use it later in the day, into the evening, or when prices are highest. It can also charge from the grid overnight when rates are cheaper, so you spend less all day, not just while the sun is out.

The Benefits
What Battery Storage Does for Your Business
The right size battery makes a good solar system even better.
Use More of Your Solar
Store spare solar power instead of selling it cheaply, and use it on site later in the day.
Cut Peak-Time Costs
Use stored power when your tariff is most expensive, so your average cost per unit drops.
Smarter Tariffs
Charge from the grid when rates are cheaper and use that power when prices are higher.
Reduce Grid Demand
Using less from the grid at your busiest times takes pressure off your supply and can help you avoid costly upgrades.
Backup Options
Some systems can keep essential circuits running in a power cut. We will tell you what’s possible.
Future Ready
Batteries work well with EV chargers, heat pumps and extra solar panels as your energy use changes.

Commercial Battery Storage Questions
Is a battery worth it for my business?
It depends on when you use power, how much solar you send to the grid, and your tariff. Businesses that send a lot of daytime solar to the grid, or use a lot of power in the evening or at peak times, usually gain the most. We work out the savings from your real data before you decide.
Can I add a battery to an existing solar system?
Usually, yes. An add-on (AC-coupled) battery can be fitted to most existing systems without replacing the solar inverter. We check your current setup during the survey.
What size battery do I need?
We base the size on your spare solar, your evening and peak-time use, and your tariff. Too small and you miss out on savings. Too large and the battery rarely fills. We size it from your half-hourly data.
Will a battery keep my business running in a power cut?
Not automatically. Backup needs extra equipment and wiring to keep essential circuits safely separate. If backup matters to you, we will design for it and explain exactly what it will and won’t cover.
Do batteries need grid approval?
Yes. If a battery can send power to the grid, it goes in your G99 application to your DNO (the company that runs your local electricity network). We handle this alongside the solar.
Are commercial batteries safe?
Modern lithium iron phosphate (LFP) batteries are a stable, widely used type of battery. For every installation we follow the maker’s and industry guidance on location, ventilation, spacing and fire safety.
How long do batteries last?
Commercial batteries usually come with a maker’s warranty of around ten years, based on years or charge cycles. We explain the warranty for your chosen system in your proposal.
