Ground Mount Solar

Put Your Spare Land to Work

Ground-mount solar puts panels on frames on your land, turning spare space into a long-term source of cheap electricity. Ideal for farms, industrial sites and businesses with more land than roof.

Why Ground Mount

When the Roof Isn’t Enough, Look Outside

Not every business has a big, strong roof facing the right way. Some roofs are too small, shaded, weak or near the end of their life. Panels on the ground avoid all of that, using land you already own to make power right where you use it.

Because we build the frames from scratch, we can set the panels at the best angle and direction to make the most power. They’re also easy to reach for cleaning and repairs. We handle everything, from site checks and planning support to the grid connection.

The Benefits

Why Businesses Choose Ground Mount Solar

More flexibility, more generation and no reliance on the condition of your roof.

01

Uses Spare Land

Turn paddocks, yards and unused corners of your site into an asset that cuts your energy bills.

02

Maximum Generation

Panels are set at the best angle and direction for your location, rather than whatever the roof allows.

03

No Roof Worries

No roof weight limits, roof warranties or re-roofing to worry about.

04

Easy to Maintain

Ground-level access makes cleaning, inspections and repairs simpler and safer.

05

Room to Grow

We can design it so you can add more panels later as your energy use or grid capacity grows.

06

Works With Farming

On farmland, with enough space between rows, sheep can graze between and under the panels.

How It Works

From Feasibility to Switch-On

Ground-mounted projects involve a few extra steps. We manage all of them.

1

Feasibility

We check the land, shading, cable route and how much the grid can take.

2

Design

Panel layout, frames and electrical design.

3

Planning & G99

Planning help and the grid application to your local electricity network.

4

Installation

Groundworks, frames, panels and cabling.

5

Handover

Switch-on, security and monitoring.

FAQs

Ground Mount Solar Questions

How much land do I need?

It depends on the size of system you need and how far apart the rows must be to avoid shade. We look at your land and energy use, then show you what will fit and what it could make.

Do I need planning permission?

Most business ground-mount systems need planning permission, unlike many rooftop ones. We can prepare the technical details for your application and tell you what the council is likely to want.

Is ground mount better than rooftop?

Not always. Rooftop is usually cheaper if your roof is suitable. Ground mount makes sense when roof space is small or unsuitable, or when you have land and want the most power possible.

Can I still use the land for farming?

Often, yes. With the right row spacing and panel height, sheep can graze around and under the panels. We’ll talk about your plans for the land at the design stage.

How far can the array be from my buildings?

Panels can sit some way from your buildings, but longer cables cost more and need careful design. We plan the cable route and size during our early site checks.

Do you handle the grid connection?

Yes. Most ground-mount systems need G99 approval from your local electricity network (DNO). We prepare and manage the application for you.
