The Brief
Alongside its hotels, the client wanted solar on its headquarters office. Offices suit solar well. They use most of their electricity during the working day, exactly when the panels are generating, so a well-sized system can cover a large share of daytime use.
The Challenge
- Installing on a working office, with staff on site throughout.
- Designing around the existing roof layout, equipment and access routes.
- Matching the system size to how the building uses power on weekdays.
- Getting G99 approval (permission to connect) from Electricity North West.
Our Solution
Our team surveyed the building, checked its energy use data and designed a rooftop system of approximately 350 panels to suit its weekday use. We bought the equipment, managed the contractors on site and kept the client updated at every stage.
We handled the G99 application with the local network operator, Electricity North West, so the system could be switched on smoothly.
The Result
The headquarters now makes much of its own daytime electricity, cutting its energy bills and carbon emissions. It was the last site in the three-site programme, delivered by our team from first survey to final handover.
