Design & Engineering
Solar Systems Engineered to Perform, Comply and Last
Every good solar project starts with the right design. Our engineers turn what we find on your site into accurate plans you can build from. That covers early checks, energy forecasts, full electrical drawings, compliance with the rules and standards, and your grid application.
Why Design Matters
Good Design Is Where the Savings Are Won
A solar system is only as good as its design. How the panels are laid out, wired and connected decides how much power you make, how safely it runs and how easily it gets approved.
We design every system around your real site: the roof, any shade, how much power you use, your wiring and what your local network can take. So it performs as forecast, your DNO (the company that runs your local electricity network) is happy, and installers have clear plans to follow.

Our Services
What Our Engineering Team Delivers
From early checks to drawings ready for the build, we do everything in-house.
Feasibility Studies
An early look at whether your roof or land is suitable, what size fits, what the grid can take and what you could save.
Energy & Yield Modelling
How much power you’ll make, how much you’ll use yourself and what you’ll save, based on your site and real usage.
Array Layouts
Panel layouts planned for the most power, safe roof access, fire safety gaps and easy maintenance.
Electrical Design
How the panels are wired, which inverter to use, cable sizes, and safety protection and earthing to current standards.
Technical Drawings
Single line diagrams (wiring overviews), layout plans and other drawings for approval and installation.
Funder-Ready Design Packs
Full technical packs for PPA funding (a funder pays, you buy the power), loans and investor checks.
Our Work
Drawings Produced In-House
Clear, accurate drawings for your grid application, for the installers to follow, and for your records at handover.
How It Works
From Site Survey to Construction-Ready
A clear design process that cuts risk and avoids costly changes later.
Site Survey
We record your roof, building, electricity supply and anything that limits the site.
Feasibility
System size, energy forecasts and grid capacity checks.
Detailed Design
Layouts, electrical design and full drawings.
Approvals
DNO application and compliance paperwork.
Construction Support
Design help and support right through installation and handover.
Standards & Compliance
Designed to Recognised UK Standards
Our designs follow the rules and guidance that keep commercial solar safe and legal.
What’s Included
Part of Every Project, or as a Standalone Service
Design and engineering comes with every Moralis installation. You can also get it on its own if you’re an installer, developer or funder who needs expert technical help.
About 600 panels on a working hotel. Our team surveyed and designed it in person, from checking the roof and planning the layout to the G99 grid application.

FAQs
Design & Engineering Questions
Do you offer design services on their own?
Yes. As well as designing our own installs, we do early checks, technical drawings and design packs for installers, developers and funders.
What information do you need to start a design?
Ideally your site address, recent electricity bills or half-hourly usage data, details of your electricity supply, and any roof or building drawings you have. We’ll get the rest at the site survey.
Do you check whether my roof can take the weight?
Yes. We check the roof can take the load on every rooftop project. If a formal check is needed, we bring in a qualified structural engineer.
How do you account for fire safety?
Our layouts allow for access routes, safe gaps and where equipment goes. We follow recognised guidance on fire safety for rooftop solar.
What is a funder-ready design pack?
It’s a full set of technical information: drawings, generation forecasts, equipment details and compliance details. It’s prepared to the standard funders and investors need before they approve a project.
How accurate are your generation estimates?
We use data for your site: which way the roof faces, its angle, shading and local sunlight levels. Output changes with the weather each year, but a well-planned system should stay close to its forecast over time.
